Brooklyn Nets troubled forward Andray Blatche is back in the news for a bad reason again. He was questioned as part of a sexual assault investigation in Philadelphia this morning.

Reports out of Philadelphia were that an unnamed Brooklyn Nets player was questioned in connection to a sexual assault that occurred at the Four Seasons Hotel at around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday. Police wouldn’t identify the player, but did say that he was only in the suite at the time of the alleged incident, but was not in the bedroom where it actually occurred.
The Nets didn’t let on as to whom it was at the time, but GM Billy King did release this official statement:
“We are aware of the ongoing police investigation regarding a member of the Brooklyn Nets,” King said in his statement. “We will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded. All of our players are available for tonight’s game.”
It was only after King’s statement that Blatche identified himself as that player via his Twitter account.
Whatever happened, hopefully the woman involved is fine and that Blatche had nothing to do with this. Whether or not it’s justified, Blatche’s name jumped out as the most obvious player it would be when the report first broke. It’s just the reputation he has created for himself. He took big strides toward maturing this season, but obviously he’s not a completely different person because even if he wasn’t involved directly he’s still hanging around guys that are getting him into trouble.
